Due to the potential risk of the dangerous Ebola virus outbreak, Cruise and Maritime Voyages has altered Astor’s 2014-15 Northbound itinerary, enabling it to avoid the effected West African countries.
CMV has been monitoring the situation closely and has acted on the warnings issued by the Australian Government’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT).
Astor’s Northbound itinerary from Fremantle to London (departing March 16, 2015) will remain a 46-night voyage and passengers will still visit the popular destinations of Mauritius, Durban, Cape Town, Casablanca, as well as Lisbon and Mossel Bay in Africa.
However, the change in itinerary will see Astor arrive into London earlier than originally scheduled, on Thursday, April, 23, 2015. And a special 8-night ‘Round the British Isles’ cruise to Scotland, England, Ireland and France, concluding in Tilbury, the cruise port of London, on May 1, 2015 (ASTOR’s originally scheduled arrival date in the UK) has been added.
This means that onward arrangements in England, Europe or return flight home will not be affected by the change to the itinerary.
So holidaymakers now have three exciting options:
- The full 46-night cruise options (dep Frem: March 16, 2015 – arr Lon: May 1, 2015).
- A modified 38-night itinerary (dep Frem: March 16, 2015 – arr Lon: April 23, 2015).
- The exciting and new 8-night Round the British Isles itinerary (dep Lon: Thursday, April 23, 2015 – arr Lon: May 1, 2015).
All three cruises are now on sale to the general public through travel agents. Special twin share rates are available for the 38-night itinerary.
CMV takes the health and safety of its guests and crew very seriously and will not risk either.
Changing a long cruise itinerary is not taken lightly, but in this case CMV deems the decision it made to be absolutely necessary.
