Australian travellers will be able to win more than $100,000 worth of cruises as part of a massive Cruise Week promotion being coordinated by Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) Australasia.
A first for CLIA, the cruise giveaway will feature in a special 32-page cruise magazine, which CLIA announced last month. The magazine will be inserted into News Ltd papers around the country on Sunday August 31 and has the potential to reach more than four million readers.
CLIA Australasia General Manager Brett Jardine said the competition would generate unprecedented consumer awareness of Cruise Week which runs from September 1-8.
“We think the combination of inspirational editorial on cruising and fabulous cruise prizes will whet the appetite of Australian holidaymakers and help drive business to our CLIA accredited cruise agents,” Mr Jardine said.
Staged in the lead up to the region’s record summer cruise season, Cruise Week will feature deals with CLIA member cruise lines, only available through CLIA accredited cruise consultants, who will be promoted in all advertising as the exclusive point of contact at www.cruiseweek.org
Mr Jardine urged travel agent members to take advantage of the Cruise Week momentum.
“This activity will guarantee that our third annual Cruise Week promotion will be the biggest yet,
but agents shouldn’t wait for the business to walk in their door. They need to be pro-active and include Cruise Week in their conversations with clients plus plan their own agency activity to build awareness and sales,” Mr Jardine said.
Mr Jardine said CLIA members could log into the Cruise Week website at www.cruiseweek.org to download the new Cruise Week logo and agency support pack.
