Cunard has announced a multi-million pound refit for Queen Victoria in January 2015 which will include the creation of nine single staterooms on the ship.
The make-over will replicate many of the new features installed on Queen Elizabeth during her recent overhaul.
Carpets will be renewed throughout and large flat-screen TVs – mostly 32” or above – are being installed in all passenger staterooms.
As on Queen Elizabeth, sun awnings will be erected on the open area near the stern Lido pool and on both sides of the Grills Upper Terrace area to offer more shade on deck.
Meanwhile the onboard shopping area will increase significantly and will feature new fine jewellery and watch shops.
The refit will take place at the Blohm and Voss Shipyard in Hamburg, Germany following the successful recent overhaul of Queen Elizabeth at the same yard.
Cunard Director Angus Struthers said Queen Victoria’s make-over would ensure the ship remained in tip-top condition for her World Cruise in 2015 and beyond.
Queen Victoria’s 103-night World Cruise departs Southampton on January 20, 2015 and includes a Royal Rendezvous with Queen Mary 2 on March 12 in Sydney.
