Royal Caribbean International has today announced that four new cruises onboard the US$1 billion marvel, Ovation of the Seas, are on sale to the public.
The new sailings, departing in January and February 2017, have been added by Royal Caribbean to cater to the unprecedented demand for the country’s first purpose-built, new-build cruise ship.
Ovation of the Seas will offer two short cruises as part of her season extension, including a five-night Tasmania taster cruise priced from $959 per person, departing from Sydney on 23 January 2017, as well as a three-night weekend sampler cruise from $599 per person, departing 17 February 2017.
Additionally she will sail two mid-length cruises; an eight-night voyage to Tasmania and South Australia departing 9 February 2017 from $1,599 per person, and a 12-night sailing to New Zealand and the South Pacific, including calls to Auckland, Tauranga, Bay of Islands, Noumea in New Caledonia and Mystery Island in Vanuatu, departing 28 January 2017 and priced from $2,319 per person.
Ovation of the Seas will then commence her 14-night repositioning cruise from Sydney to Singapore on 20 February 2017, calling at Brisbane, Darwin and Kuala Lumpur (Port Klang) in Malaysia, priced from just $1,889 per person.
“It’s clear from the incredible response to Ovation of the Seas’ maiden season that Australia is hungry for the best of the best – not only the biggest, boldest cruise ship these waters have ever seen, but for an entirely new way to holiday,” said Adam Armstrong, managing director, Royal Caribbean Australia & New Zealand.
“This extension of the maiden season in Sydney for Ovation of the Seas – plus her subsequent return in summer 2017/18 – reaffirms Australia’s position as one of the most significant cruising markets in the world and solidifies Royal Caribbean’s position as Sydney’s leading cruise line,” Armstrong concluded.
The company also recently revealed that the newest, biggest and most technologically advanced ship for Australia will return for a second season in summer 2017/18 due to the extraordinary demand for the ship from Australians. Together these new programs will add almost 60,000 new beds to the local cruise market.
Ovation of the Seas was launched in mid-April and commences her journey from Europe to the Asia Pacific via Dubai and Singapore next month, before she arrives in Beijing (Tianjin) for her inaugural China season. On 30 November 2016, she will set sail on a 15-night Singapore to Sydney voyage via Fremantle, Adelaide and Hobart, repositioning to her new home down under for her maiden Australian season in December.
Guests who booked on the original 23 January 2017 repositioning cruise from Sydney to Singapore have been offered first choice of sailings to rebook, including the revised repositioning itinerary sailing four weeks later.
