| Carnival’s collision

TWO Carnival Cruise Line ships have collided in the port of Mexico’s Caribbean resort of Cozumel, with Carnival Glory making contact with Carnival Legend while attempting to reposition on the weekend.

The impact, which was caught on camera by multiple witnesses, has seen moderate damage sustained to Legend’s stern and minor damage to Glory’s bow.

Carnival said that preliminary investigations suggested the extent of the impact was minor.

“We are assessing the damage but there are no issues that impact the seaworthiness of either ship,” the cruise line said.

Carnival also confirmed that its itineraries would not be affected & nobody was seriously injured.
