NORWEGIAN Cruise Line (NCL) has debuted Norwegian Prima’s entertainment and onboard experiences, including freefall drop dry slides, the largest racetrack at sea, and the world’s first venue which transforms between a three-story theatre and a Las Vegas-style nightclub.
The auditorium, designed to seamlessly convert from a stage to a dance floor, will feature a customisable seating layout and a moving LED screen that lowers from the ceiling.
Tony Award-nominated musical Summer: The Donna Summer Musical will take up residence at the theatre as Prima’s Broadway-style headline act.
From the production team that brought Jersey Boys to Norwegian Bliss, the 75-minute immersive production will see the theatre transform into a full disco – a first at sea – allowing guests to become a part of the show, and dance to Summer’s medleys.
Prima will also debut The Drop, the world’s first freefall dry slide, where cruisers will experience a 10-storey plunge, believed to reach the highest g-force at sea.
NCL will up the ante on its go-karts, offering the largest and first ever three-level racetrack with the Prima Speedway, which will navigate around and through the funnel of the ship, and feature a longer straight than before.
Also making its first appearance on Prima as part of the ship’s Aqua Park and Main Pool area, will be NCL’s first Tidal Wave waterslide, featuring gushing surf which guests can ride in a lifesaver.
NCL’s popular indoor virtual gaming complex, The Galaxy Pavilion, has levelled up to offer guests 14 attractions to choose from, including four new hyper-immersive simulator experiences only available on Prima, two different escape rooms, and the only Topgolf Swing Suite available at sea.
