AURORA Expeditions unveiled its 2021/22 program at a media event in Sydney yesterday, with the brochure packing in new destinations and itineraries for the cruise line (CW yesterday).
The program features the maiden sailing of Aurora’s second new purpose-built expedition ship, Sylvia Earle, which will begin sailing in Oct 2021.
The introduction of Sylvia Earle, and Greg Mortimer in Oct last year, has enabled Aurora to expand its offering and take guests to destinations between the poles, including Ireland.
The 13-day Ireland’s West Coast itinerary will venture from Dublin to Cork, stopping in at unique sites that Aurora has gained access to by working with locals.
“There is no-one connecting these west coast islands like this or accessing some of these regions there, a lot of them are privately owned,” Consumer Marketing Executive Martha Behan said.
A highlight is, weather permitting, a landing on Skellig Islands, home to the UNESCO-listed Skellig Michael and thousands of puffins and gannets.
