Award-winning Australian singer, dancer and musician Nathan Foley has collected an international gong after being voted as Princess Cruises’ Entertainer of the Year from a field of hundreds of talented performers across the US cruise line’s 18-ship fleet.

Known for his success as a singer and presenter for 10 years on Channel 9’s Hi-5 show, and more recently on Channel 10’s I Will Survive series, Nathan has spent 23 years on stage and television. He is the recipient of numerous awards, including three Logies, five Arias and a Helpmann Award, as well as a MO award for Best Young Entertainer.
Princess’ guests voted Nathan as Entertainer of the Year after four finalists were selected from the hundreds of talented performers who entertain guests on Princess’ stages each year, including comedians, magicians, vocalists, tribute bands and novelty performers.
The finalists – who were determined by the Princess Cruises’ entertainment department based on guest surveys and onboard audience response – performed to enthusiastic audiences during a Caribbean Princess cruise to the Bahamas, with guests then casting their ballot to select the winner.
This year’s competition brought a record-breaking number of guests out to vote, in a nod to the level of talent among the finalists.
Nathan’s competition included American comedian A.J. Jamal and magician Alex Ramon.
Congratulating Nathan on his selection, Princess Cruises Vice President of Entertainment Experience Adrian Fischer said the finalists had displayed incredible talent.
“Our guests were overjoyed by the entertainment and excitement of the competition,” Mr Fischer said.
This is the line’s fifth annual Entertainer of the Year program, which was established to recognise the high calibre and diversity of guest entertainers who perform on each Princess cruise.
As the new holder of the line’s Entertainer of the Year title, Nathan also received a cash prize of $5000.
