CLIA Cruise Agency of the Year 2013, 2011 & 2010 Bicton Travel, hosted their annual CRUISE EXPO last weekend (Sunday 17 August), with a record number of cruise lines in attendance. Record crowds queued prior to the 10am opening to secure their seats at one of the 27 different cruise seminars and browse the deals available on the day from more than 40 cruise lines. Bookings made on the day and enquiry levels following the event indicate demand is stronger than ever from the public of Western Australia.
Barry Downs (Sales & Marketing Manager) commented “We are excited to offer such an array of cruise lines and exclusive fly/cruise product to the public of WA. With standing room only at almost all of the cruise seminars and queues to make enquiries and bookings by 10:10am (just minutes after opening) shows that West Australians are hungry for their next adventure at sea. With more ships home ported in Fremantle year round, close to home sailings are very popular, but its Europe that captivates the people of the West, with almost 2 out of 3 of all enquiries for a Med, Baltic, Greek Isles or River Cruise in 2015”
Phil Smethurst (Director) “Thank you to our friends and colleagues from the cruise lines, many of whom travelled from the East Coast to support our quest to showcase such a wide array of cruise product. What an amazing opportunity to help visitors to better understand cruising and find the right product for their lifestyle and budget”.
