The €3.5 billion (A$6.2 billion) order was celebrated alongside construction partner Chantiers de l’Atlantique.
MSC Cruises has ordered two new World-class ships, which will mark the seventh and eighth of the vessel type in its fleet.
Construction of both the ships will begin in 2029, bringing MSC’s current value of orders with Chantiers de l’Atlantique to nearly €7 billion.
The announcement was made at the ceremonial float-out of MSC World Asia, set to become the third World-class vessel to join the fleet next year.
