Combining two back-to-back cruises is becoming increasingly popular with Australian cruise fans so to help travelers see more of Europe by sea, Cruise Express will host a 37-day cruise tour next year that includes luxury voyages in the Mediterranean and north to Iceland and Norway.
“As Australian cruisers become more seasoned they are combining voyages back-to-back to create longer, bespoke cruise holidays that make the most of their time abroad,” said Cruise Express Managing Director. Meg Hill.
Departing Australia on June 5, 2015, the ‘European Sojourn’ escorted tour begins in Rome with three night’s luxury accommodation and a city tour before guests board the deluxe Celebrity Cruises liner, Celebrity Constellation, for a 12-night Mediterranean cruise to Venice via Naples, Malta, Athens, Rhodes, Kusadasi in Turkey, the Crete harbour port of Souda and the two most popular Greek Islands – Santorini and Mykonos.
From Venice, a three-day coach tour will take passengers to the Italian Lakes District and Tuscany, with the famous cities of Verona, Florence and Pisa included in the itinerary. After seeing the Leaning Tower, Cruise Express guests will fly to London for three nights’ accommodation and a city tour including a ride on the London Eye observation wheel.
The second cruise then awaits – a 14-night round-trip voyage from Southampton to Iceland and Norway aboard Celebrity Cruises’ Celebrity Eclipse. Ports include Reykjavik and Akureyri in Iceland where passengers can take tours to see volcanoes, glaciers, geysers and hot springs. The remote Faroe Islands are also visited along with Norway’s spectacular Geirangerfjord and the Norwegian towns of Alesund, Olden and Stavanger.
The escorted 37-day fly, cruise and tour package, including return flights from Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide or Brisbane, hotel accommodation, selected sightseeing tours and the two cruises, is available from $11,990 per person, twin-share.
